Steps already taken: -installing from disk several times including repairing software and after uninstalling -installing from downloaded software on brother website including repairing software and after uninstalling -installing after closing most other software and turning off windows firewall -installing with just the network driver selected. I had this problem when tried to install network driver to brother hl-l2340d (exactly installnetworkdriver - 3, not installnetworkdriver - 1). tried it several timers, when print spooler service was running.. Any enabled anti-virus (kaspersky, mcafee, norton, avg, etc) / firewall programs should be temporarily disabled during the installation of the driver..
